My Farewell Message For My Funeral
To my beautiful family and gathered friends
If you are reading this message, it means I have departed this world and moved onto a better one. Don’t worry, I will see you again one day when the time is right.
I want to express my undying love to my beautiful wife Jennifer and to my children Mary & John, my son in law Jamison and my granddaughter Kimberly. And to all my friends and colleagues gathered here today.
If I had my time over again, I wouldn’t change anything. I have had a very fulfilling life, filled with the love and support of my family and friends.
I adore my children and their families and I’m going to miss you all as much as you will me.
I know your heart is hurting my darling Sue and the last thing I wanted to do was leave you but I had no say in it my love. I will love you forever and will continue to watch over and protect you until we see each other again.
I want everyone to talk of me as if I was still here. I know you won’t forget me but I want my Jennifer, my children and my friends to refer to me as often as possible so that you feel it’s not a taboo subject to bring up my name. This is not about me but about Jennifer and the kids knowing you haven’t forgotten her husband, their father or their friends.
But I don’t want today to be a day of sorrow or sadness. I want you to celebrate the amazing life I have had and the great times we have all shared together.
Today I want you to have a good laugh and joke about all the fun and silly things we have all done over the years together.
Now remember, the food and drinks are on me so eat up and be merry.
If you look up into the sky, you will see the brightest star in the galaxy. That will be me looking down and watching over you. I will see and hear everything, so be careful with what you say and do……Hahaha.
If you need a sympathetic ear, just look up at my star and talk to me. I will be listening and offering you my love and comfort.
I love you all and thank you for all the good times we have had together.
I will miss you all and will never forget you either.
All my love.

Readings & By Whom
Psalm 23 - Read by my Granddaughter (she has agreed) -
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. ... Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 - Read by my Daughter (she has agreed)
For everything there is a season,
and time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance;
a time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and time for peace
